This is a comprehensive guide for all senior citizen tuition waivers, discounts, and auditable classes in the state of Utah.  I am working hard to get the information up-to-date covering all fifty states, which is quite a feat.  To stay informed on all free classes for seniors near me, check back often for the most recent updates.

HOUSE BILL 60

"You Can Have a Whole Lot of Fun When You're Old Enough!

If you're 62 or older and a resident of Utah, you may audit many regular University classes numbered 1000-4999 for a mere $25 per semester in addition to any special fee attached to the class.
Known as House Bill 60, the program is just the ticket for seniors who want to keep current in their fields they know and love or learn something new.

How Do I Register?

Join us at the UNIVERSITY OF UTAH  on open registration day at the Annex building, A wing, North Entrance. In-person registration begins at 8:00am and phone-in registration begins at 10:00am on Tuesday, January 5th, for Spring 2016 semester classes.
To register for classes after January 5th, visit Continuing Education at 1185 Annex Building, or call 801-581-7155. HB 60 registrations must be submitted to Continuing Education and cannot be submitted online."

  1. This bill will actually make a lot of our senior citizen happy even if they are at the prime of their life. Being retired and doing nothing creates bad environment for oldies, especially if they live alone. That's why most of them end up staying at retirement homes like the ones from same day essay because nobody take good care of them and are bored being alone.

  2. Utah State waiver states " Utah residents age 62 and over may enroll on a space available audit basis in classes without regular tuition charges. WHAT A JOKE- in other words, I can't take any regular academic course. I'm stuck with fluff classes- photography, yoga and how to master Bridge. I don't think this is what our state legislature intended when they passed the bill. U of U and SLCC have done a marvelous job when it comes to senior education. I can't say the same for Utah State. This university is so disappointing on a plethora of levels.
