If you are over 60 and have a love for learning it is possible that you can earn your first or next degree for free, or a least at a discounted price.  Most if not all states offer free or reduced rates for seniors interested in returning to college.  I am putting together a comprehensive list of the colleges offering discounted or free tuition for you complete with contact information.  If I miss something please feel free to leave me a comment and I will add the information you submit.  Some colleges only offer classes for audit and only if there is a seat available.  You should contact the financial aid office of the college or university you are interested in to find out what they offer and what requirements you have to meet.  If you do not qualify for a grant or scholarship, then ask your tax advisor about the $10,000.00 Lifetime Learning Credit.  Remember that you are never too old to learn something new and attending college is just one of the many ways to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle.
