Colorado: Senior Citizen Tuition Waiver and Discount

This is a comprehensive guide for all senior citizen tuition waivers, discounts, and auditable classes in the state of Colorado.  I am working hard to get the information up-to-date covering all fifty states, which is quite a feat.  To stay informed on all free classes for seniors near me, check back often for the most recent updates.

Colorado State University

* If you are 62 years or older you may attend the university on a space available basis at no cost.  You are required to fill out the Senior Citizens Class Visitation Request that can be found at the aforementioned link

Persons 65 and older or 62 and retired may audit class tuition free,  Instructor permission is required.

Contact (303) 492-3712
* If you are 55 + you may audit classes for $10.00 per semester.

University of Colorado-Denver
Contact (303) 315-2110
* If you are 60+ you may enroll on a no credit audit basis with acceptance determined by space availability and previous level of education.  Courses that are excluded are those requiring special equipment, computer courses, and those offered via the Division of  Extended Services.

The information that I have obtained for the state of Colorado is that senior citizens can enroll in college for free or a discounted price, but only on a audit basis.  If anyone has any further information could you please comment to better serve our seniors reguarding other schools in this state.

  1. University of Northern Colorado allows senior citizens 65+ to audit courses without tuition charge although "course fees may apply"; and subject to space availability, as well as either having met the course' prerequisites, or having the person teaching the course "over-ride" the restriction on prerequisites. The person teaching the course can also over-ride class size limitations, in order to squeeze "just one more" student into the class. - DSJM.

  2. Currently AIMS of Greeley provides no tuition breaks for senior citizens even if they are only auditing a course. - DSJM
